Go away, Loveseat! You cannot live with me anymore!

At the garage sale, I sold 2 bookshelves, a dresser, and a bunch of smaller stuff. No interest in the loveseat.
After sending out an email to the lowerclassmen, I sold my 4-poster bed frame, 2 tables, lawnmower (much interest in this!) and the dog kennel. No interest in the loveseat.
Ad on craigslist = no interest in the loveseat.
Calling thrift stores to ask about donating it = no interest.
The loveseat has been sitting in my driveway with a FREE sign on it since last night. No interest.
What do I have to do to get RID of this thing?? It's a nice loveseat! Sheesh. |

Oh my GOD, Robert Downey Jr. is smokin! After his junkie days, it was a bit surprising to see how good he looks now. |

A 102 degree fever is no big deal right? (yeah, rhetorical question)
I had a flu shot this year. This effing sucks. Have barely been out of bed in 2 days.
On the plus side, I am on vacation next week, so at least I won't have to make up a rotation. |

So I'm sitting in radiology holding a cat, waiting to see what else we need for him. He was kinda squirmy at first, then turns around, looks deeply into my eyes and starts purring. I'm thinking, awwww, we're bonding! So sweet!
Yeah, no. He was peeing on me. That look on his face was a look of relief, not love. :P |

GAH I can't take it anymore! I've been studying since Friday night. Even though I'm totally not prepared, I cannot take anymore studying, I am so sick of it! Arrrrrrgh
Ok, had to get that out. Off to study some more. I really need to work on getting all my damn large animal parasites straight, plus all the 16 thousand causes of ruminant pneumonia that look ever so slightly different, plus all the freaking chicken diseases that are IDENTICAL except for one small detail.
Also, WTF re: sensitivity, specificity, NPV, PPV?? Who uses this stuff in real life? Like I'm seriously ever going to make a 2x2 table and figure out NPV.
Edit: Don't forget the pig diseases that are all identical, and a million different plant toxins, most of which I've never heard of.Current Mood: brain is full

Dear Ramses,
I know you think you're stuck behind the bookshelf (angled in a corner). But I've seen you jump out before. And sitting back there crying your little heart out, doesn't change the fact that I can't reach you, and the bookshelf is too heavy for me to move. It's midnight. Expend a little energy already, and jump out.
Dear Cleo,
Yes, your brother is "stuck." You want to know what doesn't help? Crying right along with him. Shut up shut up shut up!
Sincerely,
Your stressed out mom |

For anyone who likes board games, we played this one tonight: Settlers of Catan. I didn't think I'd like it--it sounded too complicated and too much like Risk (which is a snooze fest IMO). But it actually was pretty fun! And I'm not just saying that b/c I won. :P The description says it's "fast-paced" which is totally not true--our game took like 3 hours. Although I betcha that time could be cut in half, as a couple players were taking far too long during their turns. Oh, and it's only for 3-4 players, so not for a big game night. |

For all the crazy things people name their kids these days, pet names are still pretty normal.

I love: cooking! Today was deviled eggs, zucchini bread, and Summer Garden Salad. Blizzard loves eggs, and rushes into the kitchen as soon as he hears the first shell crack. :D
I hate: boys. Enough said.

Transformers: the most fun you'll ever have watching a truly awful movie!
Longer version: terrible script, bad acting, the best CGI I've ever seen, and terrific action sequences. Oh, and Josh Duhamal is HOT, so that helps. ;)

So I've been thinking about this a lot lately, and feel like I spend way too much time online. I really need to be studying for boards etc, and the internet is just such a huge time-suck for me. (Mainly b/c I am completely addicted, haha.)
I'm going to cut my time online way back, so I won't be posting here much. I totally understand if anyone wants to unfriend me b/c of this. I'll still keep up w/my F-list, just not as much as before, and I can see how it may be awkward to have a mostly-lurker as a friend. So I certainly won't take any offense if anyone wants to unfriend me now. :)
If anyone wants to keep in touch privately, my email is silvergrey10 at hotmail dot com

List seven songs you are into right now, no matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LiveJournal along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.
I've been into pop music lately, and of course alternative rock as usual.
"This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race," Fallout Boy "Give It to Me," Timbaland "Broken" (the version with Amy Lee), Seether "Pon de Replay," Rihanna "Come to Me," Diddy "The Sweet Escape," Gwen Stefani "Pain," Three Days Grace
I tag:
kris097
lareinadeluz
rosebud03
My other friends either have already been tagged, or are hardly around so won't even see this. So if I double-tag auraolaura newfoundgirlie5 and zoofussa, does that mean they have to do it? ;)

Ok weird, I was just coming here to post about the food I cooked tonight. Now I look like a lemming. ;)
For dinner, I made Rosebud's Garlic Chicken, and also her rosemary roasted potatoes. They were both really good! Definitely will make them again. Then I put together this crockpot soup to cook tomorrow: I also had a million (ok, 6) old bananas to make banana bread. I got this recipe from Cooking Light, and it's quite good. Not as moist as traditional banana bread, but better for you. I love cooking. Can't wait until I have more time for it.
